A soft pouch and two sets of four used NiMH AA batteries for a total of eight cells will be included. Batteries will be wrapped in newspaper in the box. No charger will be supplied as it stopped working during a vacation. These batteries have been used in the camera since the camera was purchased. Costco sells NiMH batteries and a charger in a bundled package for $20.

Alkaline batteries will not work in this camera!!! A white fortune cookie paper that came with the camera suggests this: "For best result, use Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) AA rechargeable batteries." Let me clarify: Only use NiMH AA rechargeable batteries in this camera!!! Alkaline batteries will not work in this camera!!!
